Can you record a Windows tablet in Camtasia 9?

I know I can record iOS devices on a Mac with Quicktime (yes yes, or C3 for mac!) but I've been tasked with creating some help materials for users who are on Dell tablets/2-in-1s running W10...

Haven't been able to figure out how to do it and haven't been able to find much info searching this community forum -- anyone wanna confirm that I'm wasting my time by trying to make it happen? :)

Alternately if anyone has any ideas for how I can record a W10 tablet screen (that doesn't involve using the native W10 Xbox app -- we block it) I'm all ears.

Thanks!

Hi there

Not sure if this is the app you are talking about. I'm not seeing XBox references so maybe not?

If it is, apologies. If not, maybe the link below helps?

SnagIt works fine with my Surface if that tracks what you are trying to do... I think Camtasia recorder would work just fine too

Thanks, Dustin -- I probably should have clarified that my licenses for Camtasia and Snagit sit on my PC at my desk, but I'm hoping to create assets FROM a tablet that does not have any TechSmith software actually installed on it. :) So. Kinda trying to swim upstream a bit! Thank you for your input!

Got it... I've installed my license on a couple of my machines without issue... Techsmith seems to be enlightened enough to understand that I'm probably not running two computers at the same time most of the time.

If only I didn't work in such a tightly controlled IT ecosystem! :)

Hi Rick, appreciate the link! Will definitely dig in and give this a go! Thank you!

ETA: Rick, that did allow me to project the screen of the tablet to my PC and I can engage my TechSmith recorders while it's projecting, so even though it won't be the simplest way to do it, I think it meets my needs!

Appreciate very much you giving me the heads up that THAT is possible! Cheers!
