Earlier this fall I was able to shoot video and then upload it into Camtasia Studio for editing. Everything worked great! Since about mid-September I have not been able to import iPad video into Camtasia Studio. Camtasia Studio will not recognize my iPad videos. I am able to import video shot on my iPhone into Camtasia Studio with no problem (well, except that I need to rotate the video). What am I doing that will not allow me to import the iPad video into Camtasia Studio?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Finally figured it out! I copied the video to my computer and added an extension (.mp4). Once I did that, I was able to load the video into Camtasia Studio. - Dick

Nice workaround! I'll try that out.

I finally figured out another, but way more cumbersome:

- Open the file with Quicktime
- Select File > Save for Web
- Select Export versions for “Computer”
- This will save the file in m4v format, which Camtasia likes okay

I like your approach much better. Big thanks!

Hey guys,

Glad you found a solution! You can also use a program such as Handbrake to convert the video, than bring it into CS. Thanks for posting your solution so other people can access it!
