Cannot import Libzip file to Camtasia

I have updated to the latest Camtasia version as of Sep 17, 2018. I cannot upload a libzip media file. When I browse the folder after clicking "Import media to library" it shows an empty folder so there is nothing to select. I have selected to show "All media files". I know the files are there because when I look up in my computer folders it shows the video asset files (libzip) are there. I followed the instruction here but I get stuck at number 2. I do not see an "Import to Library dialog, select Create New Library". What else should I do to fix this? I paid for the latest upgrade. It doesn't appear to have changed anything.

Any quick answers would be appreciated.

have you tried to drag/drop the libzip from Windows Explorer onto the Library UI?

is the libzip from CS7 or CS8?

also try ...

open select a Library dropdown, select Manage Library, select the import zipped library option; does that help?

Thanks for the quick response. I just downloaded the video intro from Camtasia Assets this morning. It downloaded as a libzip file. Can I download Camtasia assets as MP4's. Great suggestion to drag and drop the libzib file but it won't save to the media library. MP4's will.

I bought the update $99 + maintenance package $49 + Camtasia Assets license $199. If the update does not bring it up to the latest version should I ask for a refund? It doesn't serve me then.....

Yay! I finally found the link to download the .exe file for version 18.

It was a little obscure and I got a run of emails from techsmith. It was the second link I needed on one of their emails. It is now uploading the libzip files just fine. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!!!

Hi agentvickyj;

Can you please open Camtasia and go to Help - About and confirm the complete and full version of Camtasia that you are currently running? Which asset are you trying to import into the library?

I am using Version 9.1.1. I've been using Camtasia since last year and just paid for the 2018 upgrade and maintenance license this morning. I went to Help >About > and clicked Ok. It has the option to click on Credits - which I also did and it brought up an information pop-up. I also bought the Camtasia Assets this morning for $199 but the file downloads are libzip which don't seem to be recognized by the version of Camtasia that I have. I can upload MP4's just fine. The 2 intro assets that I downloaded to my laptop are: "Heartbeat" and "Minimal-Elegance-Title-5"

Can the Camtasia Assets be downloaded as MP4's?
I wonder if I should uninstall Camtasia and re-install for a fresh version - thoughts?

re ... "just paid for the 2018 upgrade and maintenance license this morning"

are you now using Camtasia 2018?

if so, try double-clicking on one of the downloaded asset libzip files; does that work?

No it still doesn't work. When I double click it launches camtasia but it just takes me to a new project page ready to upload media. If I click on upload media and find the folder that the libzip files are in, nothing appears. I have selected to view "All files". If I drag and drop it will not move the libzip files over - only MP4's. There is no instruction when camtasia launches after double clicking the libzip file. I am using Camtasia 9.1.1

when you bought the upgrade, did you receive an email with a CS 2018 key?

if you are using CS9, and you are trying to work with one of the libzip assets you downloaded from the asset package, I do no believe that will work because those assets [libzips] only work with CS 2018
