Cannot sign in to Snag It Editor (Mac) - any suggestions?

I'm running the latest version of SnagIt for Mac (2020.1.2) along with the latest version of Mac OS (10.15.4). When I open the SnagIt editor and select Sign in (Snag it menu then "Sign In...") nothing happens. I would expect a new window to open prompting for sign-in credentials or something similar, but nothing :(

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious but I'm stuck - not sure how to get Sign In working.

Thoughts?

Same happening to me too.  I just lost a capture and had to reinstall, now I cant sign in.

Basics: Are you just clicking on Sign In or holding it down long enough to make the pop out sub-menu to appear?  More basics: Are you already signed in? Look at the upper right corner of the editor window. If you see your email address there, you are already signed in.

Question: Why would you even bother to sign out? If that is what you two are doing....

Hi folks,

Sign in should open your web browser, is it possible that that's happening and is maybe hidden behind Snagit or in another desktop? You could also try changing your default browser, although it should be working in any browser.
If that doesn't work, I would open up a ticket with our Tech Support team.

Along the same train of thought as Luke, do you have either virus or ad blocker software running? These can block pop in browser windows such as the TechSmith one. Just another possibility.

Strangely - without any further interaction from me - SnagIt showed me as signed in several days later when I checked. Very strange.

I’m having this exact same problem. I can’t sign in. When I click on the link from the upper right-hand corner of the screen or from the SnagIt menu, nothing happens.

What version of Snagit and macOS are you running? What is your default web browser set to?

SnagIt 2020.1.0 (96026), macOS 10.15.4, and Brave 1.5.123. (I also tried with Chrome.)

We just released a 2020.1.3 update today that includes a fix for sign in failing. Please let us know if you're still seeing issues with that update.

Hi there, I just downloaded the new version and still cannot sign in.  My default browser is Safari, OSX 10.15.4, Version 2020.1.3.  I can see my licence key in the About Snagit window but cannot sign in
