Cannot uncheck the "Open Editor" option

The "Open Editor" checkbox remains checked - I cannot uncheck it.

Any idea how to fix this?

I am using version 13.1.2 of SnagIt. Much harder to use and bug ridden than the older version - can't seem to get the configuration right!

Not sure where you mean.  Is it here (A) ?

If it is, that's not a checkbox.  It sure looks like one, but it isn't.  It's a shortcut to the editor.

If what you want to do is take a capture but NOT open it in the editor each time,  you need the option at (b) turned off.

If I have not understood correctly please give us some more information. :)

So, it is in "A" but I also don't have it selected in "B". I can't affect the checkbox at all. Somebody is probably gathering metrics on how many people try to uncheck the box...

You know, I just read your answer and from what you are saying - this is NOT a checkbox? It sure looks like a checkbox!

Anyway, I found that there is a preference in the Editor itself that needs to be changed - which is counter intuitive, but that seems to be the fix. The setting is to not allow the Editor to always run in the background.

Glad you fixed it!

Yes that has to be the worst "Editor" come "Checkbox" ever.

It's supposed to be a pen on paper to indicate edit. You're right, it does look like a checkbox, and now we're talking about it internally :)

Just a contrasting color text or a button would be better. No icon really needed.

Silly question but does anyone actually use it?

I don't know how long it's been there but as a 15 year user, I only saw it for the first time yesterday when I went to answer the OP's question.

If there's a rationale behind it being there, I don't get what it is.  But that's just my opinion.
