Cannot use SnagIt 2020 96026 with macOS Catalina 10.15.2

I have already read the requirements from the macOS 10.15 Catalina support thread

The steps provided are not working for me as SnagIt 2020 is not showing up at all under the Screen Recording privacy permissions as seen here:


And even though I do have SnagIt 2020 showing under Accessibility it is not showing as enabled in the Snagit Panel. (after multiple power cycles and installs) as seen here:


I have made multiple screen captures with various settings and can only capture my desktop.

Thanks for the help.

As shown in the images from my initial post - the windows shown after following the steps you list are not allowing me to set the permissions correctly as they are not appearing.

I have already deleted the app with an app cleaner and reinstalled/rebooted multiple times.

I solved this issue using Safe Mode. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262
1. Reboot into safe mode.
2. Open SnagIt in safe mode and try to capture image
3. Then the privacy shows the item and thanks god I can check it.

Hope you can solve with this way, too.

Hi,

So sorry about this. Try taking a capture with snagit, when it alerts you that you don't have permission, press OK and take a capture of your desktop. This should add Snagit to the screen recording permissions list, although it will be unchecked so you will have to check it.

This is not working for me.
I just got the latest version 2020.1.0 (96026).
The Screen Recording requestor, has nothing in it, even after I capture the back ground.

That's interesting, what version of macOS do you have? It sounds like there might be an issue with macOS if a capture isn't putting Snagit into that list. If you reach out to our Tech Support team, they can help you figure this out.

i use Catalina 10.15.4. - just bought Snagit 2020.1.3 and whatever i do - i cannot get permissions for screen recordings - ALL the mentioned tipps here are NOT working!

Hi Joachim,

Generally a support ticket is the best way to get issues resolved, but we're not back in the office until Tuesday, so I can try to help you here.

If you open the Terminal app and run tccutil reset All com.TechSmith.Snagit2020, that will reset the permissions like a fresh install. Then if you try to take a capture, you should get a prompt to grand permissions for screen recording.
