Can't add clip to timeline

I just recorded an hour long video. After it finished processing, I clicked to save the file but at some point, the program just closed up. I was left with a 350Mb .camrec file on my Desktop. However, when I add that to Camtasia, I'm unable to play it or add the clip to the timeline. In addition, if I open it with 7zip, I see nothing, and if I choose "Extract camrec contents...", I see nothing in the folder I extracted to.

Is there anything I can do to recover what was recorded, or is this file corrupted so bad nothing can be done?

I'm running Camtasia 7.1.1

I can tell you this much,
Camtasia 7 runs well on Windows 7 computers.
If your running Windows 8 or newer, there are various bugs you cannot overcome.

If you can get it into Camtasia 7 media bin, if you right click the thumbnail. You can chose extract contents.
You may be able to salvage the recording? The cursor wont be part of the recording.
