Have just upgraded/bought Snagit 2019. Have a software key and link to download. Every time I try to use the link nothing happens. I keep getting a 404 error page. In fact, I'm getting a 404 error for ANY link that has anything to do with downloading product. I just now opened a ticket. Tried multiple times with Edge, Firefox and Chrome. Not sure what to try next. Yes, I've also rebooted PC, cleared cache and cookies, etc. What should I do? Please Help!!!

It is up right now as of 3:20 PM eastern time so try again. IF you are still getting 404s try pausing any virus software and see if that helps. Some of that crap blocks everything and often with no warning or clue.

Yeah, the same thing is still happening. I use the basic Windows 10 security system. Nothing 3rd party installed, currently.
Thanks for the suggestions. I guess I will just wait to see what support tells me.

Hi Garrick
Maybe this helps? I downloaded the SnagIt installer and uploaded it to WeTransfer. Maybe you can get to that one?

If that worked then there is something going on between you and techsmith and although the problem has been overcome for now it would be worth it to find out what is blocking the downloads. If you are just using the windows firewall it may be as simple as adding a firewall rule

Very happy it worked for you and I also agree with the other Rick.

I just spoke with a support person. Apparently I purchased the SnagIt 2019 app as well as the SnagIt maintenance service. Which gave me two license keys. But like I mentioned to the REp, that still does not explain why none of the download links work for me and are instead giving me a 404 error.
And I'm further stumped as to why your (Rick Stone) method worked for me. By all intents and purposes, if it is an account issue then downloading the .exe from a different source location should not have worked either. I even created an exception rule for the particular download url's in my windows firewall and anti virus applications. Still no joy. Thankfully, your method worked but for ..... and giggles I attempted to use the techsmith download link again and I'm still getting that error.
This is now officially out of my scope of knowledge. LoL

I suppose it is within the realm of possibility that the link in your email message was munged in some way. I've seen it happen before with all sorts of things.

Something is blocking your ability to download fron the Tachsmith website. (not as sophmoric as it sound) You can get that far or you wouldn't load any techsmith pages so the next places to look are
Windows Smartscreen which can block installs and downloads
Firewall, in which case you need to add a firewall rule to allow full access from the techsmith site
You might go to the dowload page, stope then open the control panel/ firewall and shut off the firewall and see if the download starts. One way or the other you will have an answer
