Hi Ali,

Anything that you download from the Assets for Camtasia site go into the Library in Camtasia.

You should remove Ali Anjum's personal TechSmith information from above {:>)

If that's a device frame.
Apply the effect to media "First"

Then look for it in the properties panel.

Joe is right- the particular asset you downloaded, Ali, is a device frame, so you don't see it until you look at the properties of a Device Frame Effect you have put on one of your videos.

Just a side note here on device frames generically. Because these appear to be a visual asset one would use similar to an Intro or an Outro, the first place I find myself always looking is the Library. Then I have to do mental gymnastics to remember that it's actually found in the Visual Properties.

I don't suppose there would be a way to make that happen, where one would simply open the Library, choose a device frame to add to the timeline, then Camtasia would behave like SnagIt where one drags the video in and drops it on top of the area where it will be presented?

That would seem to make for consistency in the way things operate between SnagIt and Camtasia.
