Help! I an new to both the Mac OS X world and new to Camtasia, so I may be missing the dead simple obvious, but I'm very frustrated with a very simple task

I'm on Camtasia 3 and Mac OS X Sierra.

When I drag a shape to the canvas or a time line, it gives me a default size and position for the shape.

I can move it around no problem. But I can't resize it!

The documentation says I should be able to click the handle bars and drag them to change the shape and size. But I can't! I can see the handlebars. I can click them. But I can't drag them to make the shape bigger.

The weird thing is I CAN drag the handle bars to make the shape smaller! But I need to make the shape longer and thinner.

Again, this might be just because I am such a newbie to this world. But I'm very frustrated. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Hi Calvin,

This happened to me as well and was frustrated until I saw what it was I was doing wrong!  Camtasia will show grips if you are in Crop mode and not Select mode. Crop mode will allow you to move objects and rotate but not scale. Make sure you have the Select icon at the top center of your view, The Arrow point up and to the left. Hope it's that simple!

Hope this helps,
Bill

When you restarted the default is the Select or Edit mode but check out the difference modes and you will see. In my mind they should show Grips or Handles in a mode that they don't do anything! Spent 22 years as a Software company designing tools!

I AM in select mode (arrow) and had the same problem.  I closed and reopened the project and then it worked. Bug.

This is definitely a bug. The same thing happened to me. I was not able to resize a callout. After reading this post, I closed Camtasia and reopened it and I was then able to resize the callout.
