Can't see Table of Contents in Preview in Camtasia 9

I did every step to get a viewable table of contents appearing on the left side of my video, and nothing seems to work. I made markers, used the Custom Production Settings, made all the selections with the table of contents options (Table of contents initially visible) and still don't see a TOC when I select Preview Current Settings. Please help!

When I select Preview the first time it works. When I deselect some markers and select Preview again the TOC doesn't appear. Also, it only shows 5 titles when I have 16. Is there a limit?

when you "preview" a production it usually only creates the first 30 seconds of the project

you need to do a full production to get everything

Is there an easy way to remove the "Introduction" title. It is grayed out and I don't want to include it. I have my own "Welcome" title I have set with a marker.

either p;lace a marker at t=0 in the project, and name it there

or when doing a custom production, at the TOC dialog, select the default 1st marker name, and rename it

Must it start at t-0? I want it to start a little later when text first appears on the screen. I can't select the default 1st marker as it is grayed out.

the production will always put a default TOC item at T=0

put a deliberate marker at T=0, give it a neutral name, like "TABLE OF CONTENTS"

put your "Welcome" where desired

Here is another little tip.

Your TOC title at the top will be the production name you give your video .

Example would be in Kayakman's video above he named his production Test.

When he shows the finished production with the TOC it has Test at the top of the TOC.

So

1. Name your production with the TOC in mind.

OR

If you want the name of your production to be whatever but have the TOC title different
you can easily change the TOC title in the config_xml.js file.

**Editing the file is not supported by Techsmith but I have done it many times with
no issues. I have to have videos named specifically but the production name doesn't always work for the TOC title.

** ALWAYS WORK WITH A COPY OF A FILE. ALWAYS HAVE BACKUPS !!

The file is found in the "Scripts Folder"

Open it in a text editor and its right near the beginning of the script.

Here is that file for the above video screengrab.

Here I changed the title in the file

Here is theĀ  screengrab of the same video above with the new title
