Hi I am using camtasia for mac.

1. When I import a camtasia file onto a live project, the media which I am seeing within the canvas disappears and I can only hear the audio. Even when I click play and the line moves across the timeline only the audio is heard but I cant see any media in the canvas which was there originally.

Please help?

Hello,

Are each of you running 2.3 of Camtasia for Mac? Does it matter what file you're importing or do all imported files cause the problem?

If you save the project, close Camtasia and re open, do you get the preview back?

I'm running Camtasia 7.1 on a PC. I spoke to someone in customer services and they said it could have been because I was putting a JPEG in at the end of the video, and should use a PNG instead. I tried it without the image, but was still having sporadic problems when I wascutting pieces of the video when there were pausesand joining to videos together. Do you know why this is happening?

If you're on version 7 it could be a memory issue. We see that cause black screen issues. Can you install the patch here to see if it helps?

Hi there I have solved the problem.

1. When I try to drag and drop the imported media onto the timeline it seems to make all media not viewable on the canvas.

2. However when I dragged imported media ON TO THE CANVAS directly, it appeared in the timeline and displayed in the canvas.

I should have tried this earlier but it seemed logical to drop imported media directly onto the timeline at the position required. Maybe you guys should look into it.

Thanks very much for your assistance

Hugo

Still having problems even though I've installed the patch. Am trialling Camtasia 8 - have got loads of video work to do and am wasting time fiddling around with 7.1.

Rachel,

Are there tips in this old solution thread that help you in CS7.11?

Have very similar problem - I'm using Camtasia 2.3.1 (81227) on Mac.
After importing mp4 file (converted with iSkysoft Video Converter form MTS to mp4) I can see my video on the left and can see even preview of the video, however I cannot put that video on canvas.
When I do that, I can only hear sound but no video. Nothing helps here.

When I put other video e.g. downloaded from YouTube these video works without problem. Do you think this may be a problem with codec or converter?
How can I edit videos in MTS format? Which converter will work, so I will not loose HD quality?
