Canvas Snapping happening too quickly; objects move on first click without any movement [camtasia 9]

I think canvas auto snapping of objects is at the root cause of all objects moving unintentionally even when user just wants to select the object to edit its properties....not to move it on the canvas.

Possible solutions:
 
1) some objects I may not want to snap right away upon object selection.  I need a certain ms delay between initially selecting an object (the initial left mouse click + xxx ms), and allowing canvas snapping.

2) I would like to see snap guidelines when dragged object is, but the object itself is not auto-snapped. This requires a new checkbox. "view guidelines of other objects, but do not auto-snap objects".  This mode solves 2 problems at once.

As a workaround, I am holding down the CTRL key to temporarily disable the snapping.  But I have to remember to do this each time.

It was somewhat of a problem in camtasia 8, but snapping has become hypersensitive in camtasia 9.

I agree that some of the snapping options are a bit radical.

Have you tried unchecking some of the snapping options under the View Menu to see if it helps with your work flow?

Yes i have....mainly the "enable canvas snapping".  Either holding CTRL to temporarily....but you have to remember to do this each time.  Not intutitive

But even with both canvas and timeline snapping disabled, I noticed on the timeline that when I click on an object sometimes, it will just move 0.5-1.5 seconds ahead.   This is incorrect behavior just to click on an asset in an attempt to work on that asset

canvas snapping is pretty rough; it can be hard to work with when canvas is zoomed in a lot

it can help if you select-click on the object's center object handle [not the rotation handle]
