I would like to be able to transform an object into the canvas since being able to do so would allow a user to use the eraser tool to erase sections of flattened areas to expose desired areas of the canvas.
For instance, a user wants to show three specific areas of an image, while hiding the majority of the same image. Such functionality would allow the user to:
In the above example, the rectangular shape acts as a "mask" that covers the image/canvas. The eraser tool then acts like a "subtraction" tool that "punches holes/windows" into the "mask."

- Open the desired image in Snagit, then
- convert the image into the canvas, then
- cover the entire image with a rectangle shape, then
- flatten the rectangular shape, then
- select the eraser tool, then
- apply the eraser over the areas that she wants to be exposed.
