Capture preset 'Effects: Scaled Image" - what is it for?

Just out of curiosity...

SnagIt main window ->  Effects: there is an item 'Scale Image' in the pull down list.
Not sure what the purpose is, i.e. when/in what situation this is used.

Just noticed that this 'effect' results in the mouse arrow being flattened, which is nice when capturing series and the mouse pointer pointing to specific items.
So far, after capturing, when the capture shows up in the editor, I separately needed to r-click on 'Flatten All'.

The mouse arrow/pointer is automatically flattened in case of
- capturing without opening the editor (i.e. preview disabled), or
- when using this 'Scale Image' effect.

It re-scales the capture while your capturing it.
If you click the gear icon in the manage presets window. You'll see this pop-up.
That gear icon appears for most effects and settings. It's how you access the advanced settings for the selected feature. "In case you didn't realize that" }:>)

It's set to 100% by default? "Apparently" I don't use it but every time I look at it it's set to Scale by Percentage and 100%.

Open the dropdown menu and you can get to more precise settings.

Aha ...
Thank you so much Joe.
All clear.

To be honest, apparently, for one reason or the other,  I once created a profile with this 'Scale' thing, though so far I never used it.
