Capture scrolling region without including left sidebar and right sidebar

Hello

SnagIt 12 for Windows question please.

I am trying to capture scrolling regions from webpages but cutting out any left hand or right hand side bars.

The bit in the middle will be the same horizontal size but the vertical scrolling size is always different.

I guess what I need to do is set the top left and top right co-ordinates and capture everything scrolling between.

Is this possible with SnagIt 12.

Hello there, Yes you can do that.

The Image below ( Click to enlarge ) shows how to change the "Default, Image Capture Profile" to do a custom scroll.

You can also change it back to the Default setting of "All-in-one" by just selecting All-in-one at Step 3 and then use step 6 to save the change.

The custom scroll allows you to select the area you want to capture before scrolling begins.

This is a video from TechSmith for SnagIt 11 but it will show you one example of how a custom scroll is applied. http://www.techsmith.com/tutorial-snagit-custom-scroll.html

You can also create your own profile just for doing custom scrolls.

Regards,  Joe

Hi,

Another approach you can take is to take the default Scrolling Capture. When viewing the resulting capture in Snagit Editor, you can resize the canvas to exclude any bits on the left and right side that you do not want. Resize the canvas by clicking and dragging the little gripper boxes that are on the left/right sides of the capture.

Hope that helps,
Bill
