Hey there, is there any way to capture stills - instead of videos - with Camtasia 9? Thanks for your help! Best, tobias

In short, No.

You can export individual video frames as still images from the editor. But that's it.

If you're running Windows 10, hitting the Windows Key + Print Screen will take a screen shot.

It places the image in a self-generated folder called Screenshots in your Pictures folder.

What Joe said; however, if you want a frame of the video, rather than a screenshot, for Windows, click on Control + F and it will take a snapshot of the location where your playhead is at in the video. You can then save it as a PNG.

I don't know about Camtasia 9 but in Camtasia 2019 you can just click Share then Export Frame As to get a .png of the frame currently shown in the viewer.

Indeed Camtasia 9 offers this too.

Note that you have to click the Share menu to see this. The big green Share button on the right doesn't offer this ability.

Personally, I don't use either and prefer to use the keyboard shortcut of Ctrl+ F that was mentioned earlier in this thread.

Cheers... Rick :)
