What happened to capturing from my 2nd monitor? Upgraded to 2.8.12339, and now it won't allow me to capture from my extended desktop anymore.

We've seen this a few times, so lets try a few things to see if we can fix it.

Can you close Jing all the way down. Then browse here.

(Windows XP) C:\ Documents and Settings \ "Your User Name" \ Local Settings \ Application Data \ TechSmith \ Jing

(Windows 7) C:\Users\"Your User Name"\AppData\Local\TechSmith\Jing

Can you delete both settings files and then re-launch Jing to see if that resolves the issue.

This worked. Thanks a lot. I'll definitely keep this in mind if I have any issues in the future.

I can only screen shot one screen on my dual screen setup. I used to (before the up date) do both. HELP! I love your program

Tyler, try the answer in this thread. I merged them because it sounds similar. If this doesn't work, let me know!

I can't get the latest version of Jing to create a capture area that is on my second monitor. The first set point is permanently pinned on the first monitor near the START menu. It wants to capture across both monitors. Update was done on Dec 18 2012.

I use two monitors, and have different information on each monitor. When I attempt to copy a screen using Jing, it often will revert to a different monitor during the copy process, and not allow me to get a copy of the screen I am on?

This fix works for me initially, but every time I put my computer to sleep, hibernate, or shut it down the settings revert and I need to delete the files again. Is there a more permanent fix?

This morning we released an update to Jing which includes a fix for capturing on dual monitors. You should be prompted to update Jing. If not, go to More > Help > Check for Updates.

If you have any questions please let us know.
Thanks,

Erika

I just updated Jing and now it's worse than before. Previously I could either move the window I wanted to capture onto monitor 1 or delete the settings to get this working. Now with the new update when I try to capture my entire display goes black and I can only see the outlines of the various windows. I've tried deleting my settings, but that didn't help.
