Certification Test Suggestion

I'm in the middle of lesson 4 and so far the course has been excellent. However, since I'm a PC user with no interest in Mac issues, it seems to me that you should consider having separate PC and Mac test versions. I will never use a Mac and feel that having to watch the Mac-specific lessons and then try to remember the Mac-specific answers is a waste of time.

If you are referring to the TechSmith Camtasia 2019 Certification then the Mac tutorial(s) is an optional video so you would not have to watch that one to complete your Certification.

However if you are getting Certification for Camtasia 2018 they are explained for both the PC and Mac Versions to show the differences and how both versions work. They are pretty much the same steps for both PC and Mac and as far as I could see they did explain the differences in the software versions for the Operating Systems if there was a difference/different way of accomplishing the same task.

If you look at some of the videos for the Mac Versions they are optional as far as I know but may still be on the Certification Test. So this is just my opinion as I do not own a Mac either but, it is always nice to still have the knowledge of how the features work in a Mac. You never know if you may or may not be working on a Mac or not in your job(s).

I understand your Idea/Request though for having it setup for two different versions as one for PC and one for the Mac Versions and personally I did not mind having them combined but I do understand why you may want that option or other users who may feel the same way about using a Mac and not a PC.

I also understand that other people or companies that one may or may not create videos for may be using the Mac Version so it is nice to know how or what the differences are and if they work good together and are compatible with each other on different features.

Thanks for posting and have a great day/night.

Thanks but I've only tested through Part 3 and the test for "Recording Preferences and Options" Question 3 is, "In Camtasia Mac, if you want the option to choose a file name and location for each of your recordings, you must choose __________ in the preferences," and Question 7 is, "True or False: In Camtasia Mac, you must install a separate software component if you wish to record system audio." So 2/8 questions on that test were related to Mac, so if I wanted to pass, I HAD to watch the Mac videos. I will NEVER work on a Mac, so test questions related to Camtasia Mac are a useless waste of my time to have to answer.

Thanks and I now understand what you are looking for in having them separate from each other instead of combined. Maybe they could change the test questions for PC only and Mac Only or just separate the training for both OS Versions.

Maybe try putting this in for an Idea here in the posts and possibly contacting TechSmith to suggest it to them too. Thanks for the further response back and have a great day/night.
