Change parallelogram shape to quadrilateral?

When I use the Blur tool with its shape set to rectangle or rounded rectangle and drag an area, it does so in a parallelogram. What I'd like to be able to do is drag any corner of the marquee that defines the area to be blurred such that I can change the shape to a quadrilateral. Is this possible?

Here is the use case...I want to blur a license plate on a vehicle.  The plate is a rectangle and I can drag the blue shape to a rectangle and I can rotate it. By being able to move each corner of the Blur's marquee, it would allow me to blur just the plate accounting for the angel that the shot was taken and any lean of the vehicle.

Thx

Hi,

Snagit 2019 has a freeform option for blur, so you can make a blur object in any shape.

@Luke
It does?  I'm running 2019.0.1 and I can't see it.  If I draw a freeform with the select tool and switch to blur my selection deselects

Please tell me more, because I am missing something

Hi Paul,

On the blur tool, freeform is one of the shape dropdown choices

OK....  why did I get this notification then?  I'm subscribed to the Windows forum.  If i was subscribed to the Mac forum my inbox would surely be seeing many Mac related requests, and it's not.

Unless, of course, the Mac users are a far more content group of users than we Windows users? :)

You're right.

But I still don't get why the two apps are not in step.  Yes, there are OS differences that will lead to some minor divergence but this is good case where it makes no sense.  Why doesn't the shapes drop down include free drawn?

The inability for us to have multiple callout pointers in Windows when you can in Mac is another.

And I'm sure you guys have a shopping list too.

Do Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint etc differ significantly between the two platforms?

I remember a time not so long ago where Camtasia Mac users were discussing something called "Remove a color" that didn't exist on the PC version of Camtasia. And much wailing and gnashing of teeth ensued among the PC users.

I am not complaining just surprised. I think if a feature is added either SnagIt or Camtasia should be available on Both platforms is the Operating systems allow it.
