Changing duration on multiple clips

Hi,
Using 8 version, I have a bunch of clips on my timeline each with an identical
lenght/duration. Is there a way to change the duration of all these clips in just one step without doing it one by one?
Thanks,
Flip

what type of clips are they?

try applying clip speed adjustments to them all, and with all selected, change the speed factor?

They are *.mov clips, i could select each 3 of them or all of them set the same duration like those on the left in the image. When i choose the 3 clips can't edit duration, only clipspeed. Strange because we can do it with images clips.

OK; I misunderstood; to my knowledge, that can't be done

Hi there

Assuming that were to someday become a reality to achieve, how then would you propose it work?

Should the video be configured so it plays the exact duration specified from the beginning of the clip? Or should the video be adjusted (either sped up or slowed down) so that the total play time matches the desired duration?

Think about a clip that is perhaps one minute long. It might be fine to say to play only the first ten seconds. But what happens if what you really hoped to present is at the 50 second mark?

Or a clip that is perhaps only 10 seconds long but you really were hoping to have 20 second long clips. What then? Dead air for the last 10 seconds?

I would think that this would be nothing but an exercise in frustration as the adjustments would almost never result in what you wanted and you would be endlessly forced to make your own adjustments to make things come out as you hoped.

Hopefully some food for thought... Rick :)

Hi Rick Stone, why did they made that option only for images and not for clips videos? This only make more easier to edit and less time instead edit one by one, that's all :). To be objective, i'm doing a compilation with several games videos and each game video i edit 3 clips from it with same duration.

Well, I might imagine the time element is the biggest factor. A still image simply has no time element. Thus it's simple to say that any number of images can be presented for any given time period. But for videos, you encounter the issues I outlined earlier. And unfortunately, there simply is no logical one size fits all for that. It's extremely subjective. ;)
