it would be helpful if selected text could be adjusted in size using this kind of control as well as the drop down please:  It's a much quicker and more satisfying experience if you are unsure and need to see the effect of different sizes

Hi Paul,

I'm not sure about the Windows version, but on the mac version you can click on the text size field and use the up and down arrows to adjust font size.

Hi Luke

Yeas, windows has an equivalent function but I am not talking about the box over on the right.  That's outside my field of vision.  I am talking about this control, the one that's in view, next to the object that is being edited:

I came here to ask for this..  In every case where we have a slider to change font size, replacing it with direct entry, and up/down buttons would be awesome. The sliders really don't help at all IMO.

I agree with both Paul and Allen. The sliders are clumsy and I usually end up just having to click to fill in the box with the font size number I want (and this is AFTER having to go check the size of type in another callout box to ensure they match). UP/DOWN would provide so much better speed and productivity.

OK so this is officially weird.  If I right click a callout I don't get either of teh two context menus you get.  I get another one entirely:

Wait.  Is that the Mac version you are showing?

Yes, I'm on a Mac. But since it's just called Snagit 2018 now, I had assumed that they had merged all functions and capabilities. Clearly that is not the case -- it's just the same version name now for two different versions. I think. How confusing that THAT?

Nope.  Two separate products, two separate sets of developers, different bells and whistles.

So when users in this community are posting about their questions or problems, seems like there will be a lot of confusion, just like we experienced here. And I'm not sure how Techsmith will enable users to search past posts for their own version (so we can talk apples to apples) when both Mac and Windows version have the same name. Seems like a major case of unintended consequences to me.

I think I remember now that when I got the Mac version, I REALLY missed being able to adjust the type size right from where the type is, i.e. not having to go clear over to the side to the clumsy slider. I think Snagit is a native Windows app, though, so we are the stepchildren. At least I can enlarge my canvas by just dragging the corners, not sure you can do that unless they've improved it for Windows.

I think the confusion may have been exacerbated by me when I raised the OP.

For some reason I tagged the post as applying to both Snagit for Windows and  for Mac, which was not a good idea.
