Changing temp storage location in Camtasia 9

I'm running Win 7

i recently upgraded to Camtasia 9 from Camtasia 8.6, and did not have this problem with 8.6. While capturing screen video (3840x2160), at about the 45gb file size, recording will stop showing an error msg that recording space was limited (i'm paraphrasing).

Odd thing is it seems to insist on using C:\Users\larry&ellen\Documents\Camtasia Studio as the storage location even though i had changed location to a worktable SSD i use expressly for this purpose. My "worktable SSDs" were selected in Preferences, both the "partners" tab and the "advanced" tab. What also is perplexing, the location it insists on storing to has 90+GB of space available.

Is there some setting i'm not seeing to point it at the two worktable SSDs ? This is getting a little frustrating when 45-50 minutes into a recording, it flags that it's stopped recording.

Believe i found the answer in another thread - kayakman posted this response

"use Recorder's Tools/Options/General tab ... File Options

you have to enable fixed file name, then set the directory

if you want to have it ask for a name again, re-select that option; the destination folder will be remembered"

I didn't realize there was a Tools selection on the small recording bar

As you may know Camtasia Studio 9 is a new program. It may have many bugs. In order to fix this here is what i would do. 1. Could just be there program. 2. Record with a different application and just import the media and edit it in Camtasia Studio 9 . 3. Make sure your computer has enough space. It could be stopping just because your PC is out of GB.

it wasn't lacking space - again it stopped at the 45 or 47 GB mark while the drive has 90+GB free

but i found the answer to my question in another posted and edited into my orig post - i just didn't as "PS" at the beginning of the edit -

I have had the same problem  Intermittently this entire year and YES it is very frustrating.  

But what I have just learned by kayakman's instruction to go to Tools menu in the recording toolbar is that Camtasia 9 is actually two separate programs.  There is the **green** app that is a Editor like Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro.  Then there is the **red** app that is the screen recorder.  Both Premiere and FCP can not record the screen.  This is what makes TechSmith's product unique.  

As Camtasia becomes more robust, I wish there would be some expert 3rd party training on this deceptively simple package.  Both the **green** app and the **red** app have their own starting icon that can be pinned to the taskbar.
