Changing the volume of a PowerPoint slide

I recorded a PowerPoint video in Camtasia 7 on Win7. I decided that I needed one more slide in order to transition to my next video tutorial.  When I first joined the contents of the two projects, the volume of the second was much louder than the rest of it.  I tried the approaches shown in a tutorial on editing the audio but nothing, such as setting the volume level for the whole project, pushing the wave form down or setting audio points for this slide only and pulling the red line down made any difference.  So I removed it and recorded the single slide again with a low volume, saved it in the clip bin, and then attached it at the end of my timeline. The first test worked fine. The volume had evened out. I tested it again today, and it is back to the loud voice it had before. What can I do to fix the volume problem? Thanks.

Here's a screenshot that shows one of my efforts to reduce the volume. The red line extends across the whole segment but I cannot seem to make it all show red at once. When I try to edit the audio,  I cannot change form "High Volume."
