Changing volume levels on an audio track in various places, not just the entire track.

Is is possible to raise and lower audio at different parts of the same track? I want to be able to raise and lower background music to work with narration and recorded voice tracks already on Audio 1. I know I can raise and low the entire volume of the clip, but I'd like to be able to it through different parts of it.

Yes, it is! Put your play-head over an audio clip and then hit the "Add audio point" button at the bottom of the Audio tab. This will break up your horizontal line in pieces where the points are. You can drag and drop the points around the clip, and add multiple audio points to a clip.

How does this work on Camtasia 2 for Mac? I don't see any "Add audio point".

@Mark...just split the audio track (command-T) at the beginning and end where you want to control the audio and then drag down the effect you want to use onto that track (i.e. Lower Volume).

The Mac doesn't use the audio points like the Windows version does but you can accomplish the same thing.

The newer version has a custom tab in The Audio  FX tab - Just select custom and pull down to your timeline. Then pull the bigger pointer and stretch out for the duration  of the increase/decrease in volume....then click the properties button to adjust.

Also look at the transitions and choose audio - good hunting!

I was searching for an answer on how to adjust audio on a portion of a video on Camtasia 2 for Mac. Tried pressing command-t but nothing happens. Tried using the custom audio fx, I put it inside the section of the video I want to adjust the audio for, but there is no way to lower or raise that section only, it's all of the video audio or nothing. On the Windows version I could do this no problem, but the Mac version is missing a few things. Could you please give me a few more pointers? Thanks!
