Chromebook Snagit Direct to Clipboard

I know that this is not a new subject and things are happening so fast, it is hard to know whether this problem has been addressed and solved by the experts at TechSmith.  If the problem has been solved can you kindly post the solution for the Chromebook users?   I use Snagit on my Windows computer daily and would like the same ease in using it on a Chromebook.  Right now I capture and then have to do through an insert from the GoogleDrive folder which is clumsier...but doable.

Thank you.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion! This is something that's trickier in the Chrome environment (vs. Windows and Mac) because Chrome doesn't give us an easy way to access the clipboard. It's something we're definitely going to keep looking into, of course.

One potential workaround would be to uninstall the app (so that you only have the extension installed). When you make captures with the extension, instead of the app showing up, and new tab will show up with your capture. On that tab, you can simply right-click the capture, choose "Copy", and then paste it wherever you want (e-mail in Gmail, into a Google Doc, etc). The one drawback of course is that the extension does not have annotations for images and animated GIF export at the moment, so you would be losing those features.

Thanks again for the idea/suggestion, and like I said, we'll keep looking into it as we continue to improve Snagit for Google Chrome!
