Clip speed - allow people to set duration (versus percentage)

The Clip Speed feature is super-helpful for synchronizing animation with audio - thanks! I usually add markers to the audio that I need to sync, measure the duration between markers, and then fiddle with the clip speed until I've gotten it to the exact duration I need. This lines up the animation beautifully.

It would be even better if I could specify my target duration instead of experimenting with different values of clip speed. Maybe with an auto-updating field so that if I change the duration, the clip speed is automatically calculated? That would be wonderful!

Hey Sacha,

Thanks for the idea. I'll make sure to pass it along, with your examples of how you'd use it as well.

Thanks for the feedback Sacha! What version of Camtasia Studio are you using? With version 8 and later, once you add clip speed to a clip, you can drag the end of the clip speed effect to adjust the duration of the speed right on the timeline. You do have to specify a percentage at first, but then after that you can just drag it to be the length you need. In your case, you could drag it to line up with your markers. Here is a short video showing how to do this:

I hope this helps!
