when editing a video I want to clip out a fluffed word. It would be great to have an option to play whats outside the clip zone not inside. This would enable smoother trimming of speach

try cutting out the fluffed word, then play across the [now outside] section

if not OK, use un-do to restore cut word and adjust cut selection as required

if stitching is enabled, use undo 2 times; 1st times changes the stitch to a split, 2nd restores the cut material

Thanks,  good Idea.

Still feel this would be  a great new function in camtasia.

Just a tip here. If the fluffed word was you during recording, pause, clap your hands really loud, then repeat as if nothing happened. The hand clap will cause a noticeable spike in the audio waveform and make it simple to locate when you are editing later.

Cheers... Rick :)

Cheers Rick.   Made me laugh.

Alas the recording is of a live webinar which is then edited down for the clients to review again.  I think I might wake some of the people up.  especially the ones using head sets lol.

might use it when doing pre-recorded stuff.

I love this idea, Tommy! Thank you, Kayakman, for sharing that tip. At the moment, that is the best way to do it, but I know I would use the other method too.

Rick, I do that all the time! Lovely for pre-recorded projects.
