Clips The Full Record Size?

So I'm working on a project and editing a small portion of the video/audio footage and then saved that edited work. Came back, did some more editing, saved that clip as well. I intended on building the video like this but I've come to find that each of the clips I saved are still the entire screen record size which really slows things down. Can I cut that footage out some how and reduce the file size?

Hello,
Yes, you speak the truth about how clips are managed on the timeline.

I think a good idea for you would be to select the clip or a timeline section you are done editing that area, right-click it, and choose Produce Selection As.

Then, produce that clip out as an MP4 and bring it back into CS and delete the original section on the timeline.

This will make like easier for you.
