Closed Captioning with a Script (Camtasia 3- Mac)

I am a teacher who uses Camtasia to closed caption videos for deaf and hard of hearing students. I recently upgraded my school district computer from PC to Mac. I downloaded Camtasia 3 onto my Mac but realized that it does not have the same captioning features as the PC version. I was really sad to see this. The PC version has the option to upload a script and time (sync) captions and the Mac version of Camtasia does not (unless it is hidden and I am not finding it).

I am wondering if this could be a feature added to the next version of Camtasia for Mac? It would be so helpful to be able to upload scripts that classroom teachers give me for their Flipped Classroom videos. It would save a TON of time not have to type what it is said word for word. My team of teachers LOVE Camtasia but this would be such a great addition to it.

Many Thanks!

It works as a timeline bar, similar to markers.

You should be able import a script, too.

(I recently did that on a project, but cannot recall the format it accepted.)

I also believe there is a tutorial on the Camtasia site -- if not, someone here can help you. (I'm not able to be at my Mac at this time)

I have found the captioning timeline and can import a .srt file but not a script in paragraph form and time the captions like you can in the PC version. :(

Thank you for the link. I checked it and the script feature that it says is there is not there on the Mac version. Only the PC version.

Agree. I worked completely from a script for my recent 45-minute video, and was looking forward to pasting the script into Camtasia and simply clicking to sync as I went through the video. Now I learn that even though the help document says the Sync Captions function is present in the Mac version, it is not.

It is 1:14 in the morning, and now I'm looking at typing the entire script into the project. Not a happy camper.
