Please add smart page breaks to Combined Image File creation...It's really difficult to move images/objects around and continuously preview how the file will look when saved to PDF.

We've been thinking about this as we made it. Because yeah, this is a great idea. The last thing you want is a step in the process you're explaining broken up. We haven't implemented it yet though because of course there are always tricky use cases. For instance, do people need to be able to see and move the page breaks around in Editor after they combine an image? Or are you more thinking they would be behind the scenes and only break it up when you export?

The problem with smart page breaks is that we could get it wrong. Especially if people drew lines (or other objects) between steps:

Or if they move steps around afterward:

We're up for the challenge, but of course we can get simpler solutions out faster. Thoughts on how you'd want it to behave?

Thanks Chris,

Duly noted...I found another suggestion shortly after I had submitted mine that mentions utilizing manual page breaks in Editor as you mentioned.  That seems like a logical method to obtain the desired outcome.  It brings to mind the Page Break Preview view in Excel.  That would be very helpful in setting the page breaks where you'd like them to be.

Thanks again for the quick follow-up.

I know this post is from a year ago, but now that "Templates" are a big selling point in SnagIt 2020, this seems even more of a need than a want. I love creating quick templates, but printing them to PDF with no control over where the page breaks happen is going to be a nightmare and undo a lot of the "Get these out quicker" value in having the templates in the first place.
