This conversation has been merged. Please reference the main conversation: Group/Ungroup objects in Camtasia timeline

I split my video and need to put it back together. I am past "undo".
How do I combine the split segments?

Hey Poder,

I'm going to merge this with the authoritative topic. In the mean time, I'd recommend grouping your clips.

I am using v7.1 for Windows and just searched the help file.
There is nothing about "grouping".

I am still waiting for an answer.
Can you combine split segments in v7.1? That version has no control as described.

Hey Poder,

Sorry about the frustrations! The solution originally suggested was for Camtasia 8. Camtasia 7 doesn't have the grouping feature that was suggested. The best way of getting the video clip you want, back to a editable state, would be to produce the whole movie out, and import it again. Obviously, that's not an ideal solution.

The other option would be to download the free trial of Camtasia 8, where you can import the project to. No promises that your project will import properly though, as not all projects will import correctly from 7 to 8. It might work for you though. That will give you access to the grouping feature from Camtasia 8.

Sorry to not have a more definitive answer for you!
