There are a lot of good comments for TechSmith but they are unfiltered. The question is how do you monetize comments? Comment forums cost money to implement and manage. May I suggest that commenting be a subscription proposition. Yes, I know. That filters out some comments that are worth airing so pick your poison. I would happily pay a dollar a month to reduce access by trolls. Maybe then, the segmentation of comments everyone wants could occur, and TechSmith wouldn’t have to monitor the forum as a company function.

The whole thing is a solution in search of a problem. The trolls and spammers make only occasional appearances and as soon as they do the posts are remove and the account they used to spam with is presumably banned.. I haven't created an account here for a long time but the usual process is to have to verify through an email link. That is too much bother for a spammer just to get a few spams into forums
Yes they use bots but even at that the return is low winch is why you don't see much of it
These are the mosquitoes of the internet. Smack any that land on you but resign yourself to the fact that there will always be another
If they go paywall for the support forum I will be done with Techsmith as that is simply overkill

LMAO - love the mosquito analogy. DEET is my summertime cologne. Yet even with regular applications, I STILL manage to get bit!

Seems to apply as well to this discussion. As hard as one may try to avoid the SPAM, you are still going to end up seeing it here and there.

I don't see that much spam on these forums. I think we had three one week and silence for a long time before and since. Several times I see spam in the notification email and when I click the link it is GONE, so where's the issue?
If I get out here and it is not gone I hit it with my usual comments and graphics
