Connecting Snagit to Jing

I use both Jing and Snagit. Jing asks if I want to get Snagit so I can edit from Snagit but I already have Snagit. How do I connect the two and tell Jing where and how to launch Snagit when I want to?

Interesting. One would likely expect that clicking that button would just pop SnagIt open!

I might suggest you contact TechSmith support.

Using SnagIt and Jing makes minimal sense to me.

I installed Jing just for the fun of it. See if I could sort this mess out. I'm aware Jing is an Antiquated program that probably hasn't been updated in 5+ years.

It still functions, but so does SnagIt  7 and Camtasia 6.

I recorded some video, it still worked just fine. It saves the videos to the SWF format.  Now there's a relic of a video format.

You can save the video and edit it in Camtasia 8. I chose that option. It opened in Camtasia 8 and was converted to an AVI file automatically. "Interesting" It's been at least a year since I played around with Jing. It will be uninstalled before I shut down the computer tonight.

I couldn't send images to SnagIt either. I got a data store error.

Which doesn't surprise me much. Considering the age of Jing and and all. Maybe If I had SnagIt 9 installed and no trace of SnagIt 2018 it would work flawlessly?

Here's what I don't understand. SnagIt can captures images better than Jing. With features that make Jing look like amateur hour.
SnagIt can record Video.

Camtasia 8 can record video much better than Jing. With many more features at it's disposal.

If you have SnagIt. Why use Antiquated Jing at all? TechSmith won't be fixing broken Jing, I'm surprised they continue to let people download it.

Anyway, all I can say is. Just use SnagIt. Problem Solved.  "Sound Reasonable"???
