Conversion of Compressed SWF to MP4

I have a large number of compressed SWF files, which I believe were created with Camtasia (an old Windows version). The not-for-profit group would not have upgraded their version for 5+ years.
I have tried a number of video conversion programs, and they either do not work (eg, the audio channel is lost; or the video channel suffers bad mis-timing; or they just cannot handle the format, though they promise to do it).
Do I have an option to convert to MP4 or even FLV format? I have seen some posts here suggesting that I obtain a trial version of Camtasia for Windows, and that will allow me to do the conversion.
I have possibly 100-120 SWF videos to convert, and this is a  freebie task that I am doing for them - would like to be able to automate it in some way.
A problem is that those I have seen so far, have a start screen with a > start button that must be clicked once loaded into conversion software, in order to start play or conversion.

Would these be animations or videos - or is this normal?

can you play these old SWF video?

if so, play them and re-capture the playing video with Recorder; then, produce to MP4 using Camtasia's editor
