For my work we use Camtasia, to make E-learnings for our customers.

Now we have some Camtasia 8 files that we would like to give an update.

For the moment we are using camtasia 9.2, and we are not able to open the camtasia 8 files.

Is there a way to convert these files to a newer version?

are we talking about project files [camproj files from CS8]?

do you have these in the form of a zipped project file?

if so, CS9 should automatically upgrade the CS8 file to CS9 when you import the zip into CS9

if you are trying to open CS8 project files [not in a zip archive] where the associated media is no longer available, then the project cannot load

So there is no simple conversion tool for this?

How is this possible... so all our old projects are for the bin?

download CS7 and use it to convert the old files

Don't you have to pay for this version?

not usually; if you own a newer version, you should be able to use any older version; in some cases, the current key will work with older versions

since the files came from CS7, then you must have used it in the past?

perhaps download CS7 and give it a try?

FYI, the inability of CS9 to open CS7 is a known limitation, and TechSmith advises the 7 to 8 to 9 path

I misspoke above; if you have CS7 projects, you need to convert them in CS8

so download/use CS8 [not 7]
