Copy FTP/URL to clipboard

As above really..
Is there any option of copying the URL of a file you have just uploaded to an FTP server?

e.g. I want to upload 'image.jpg' to 'ftp://mywebsite.com/images/image.jpg' and on upload completion I want 'http://www.mywebsite.com/images/image...' to be copied to my clipboard so I can quickly share the link. I found this option in a similar program but I can't seem to find the option for it in SnagIt or it doesn't exist.

Any ideas? Thanks

This feature will never be available in Snagit.
The only reason is, that it will take away customers for the paid version of Screencast.

Hello,

This feature hasn't made it into the Snagit Windows side yet. However, it is available on the Mac side.

I don't have an estimate for when or if it will be a feature in a future version of Snagit for Windows.

However, I can say for certain that NOT being in Snagit for Windows has nothing whatsoever to do with Screencast.com - paid or free version.

It looks like it has been 4 years since this thread started and it was not implemented by the company.  I am only using a trial right now and need that same functionality.  I like to deal with companies that build good, easily usable products and listen when their customers have *good* ideas which this one is a must.  I do not believe that the product has enough superior benefits to other software to pay for it.  Had FTP upload and file copy existed, I would have paid and registered already.  This program won't even save the ftp locations and credentials....stone age

Yes, sadly, no change in FTP link to shortened link in years.

So still having to export the link to a shortener, which is a two-step process that frankly should have never been allowed to see the light of day. I mean shorteners like bit.ly and goo.gl have been around from way before Snagit was born...

This periodically forces me to look around for alternatives to Snagit–just not a good way to support a paid product (forcing clients to periodically look for competing products is not cool in 2015).

In my career over 30 years in software business I have never seen this bad customer support what you Techsmith are offering for your customers.

Your customers have to wait over 5 years for some simple and trivial feature to be added into your program and STILL you are saying you do not know when you are able to do that.

This is ridiculous.

People can see clearly and loud the answer why this company has not grown anything big over these years.

I am only concerned about whether it is safe.  It seems to be the best thing around regarding features and you can see how it is being updated hourly, but it only has 1 review on Cnet.  Very few reviews anywhere online.  The product, if as advertised, should have thousands of 5 star reviews.

Try screencloud - CKEditor may well be safe, but so is a seatbelt. Neither of them are any use at the relatively simple task of uploading an image to ftp them copying the URL to your clipboard. That's what this thread is about.

I haven't tried Sharex but when I finally lost my patience with Techsmith about upload to ftp-and-copy-the-url-o-the-clipboard I went and found screencloud (Google it).  It woks a treat - none of the advanced (needless?) editing of ckeditor - very similar to Jing - good interface and no fluff / mess.

While I agree with your comment, sadly, Snagit remains the only useable screen/video and tutorial making app I've found. By sadly, I mean this single lack of shortener drives me nuts! But I'm forced to settle but the other stuff lacks features.

I agree Jim - I can tweak my snaps in Snagit, edit, annotate, crop, etc ...and then call ScreenCloud to upload to the ftp path I need.

I can see Snagit in the corner of my screen cringing at the shame of another screenshot app being used to capture a screenshot app.
