Corrupted cmproj file has no project file in it

I went to save my Camtasia project and it said it could not be saved.  I then saved it with a different name (well, it said it could not be saved either).  However the second name popped up in my finder window.  Using previous threads as a guide, I went looking for solutions that others had suggested (for example, remove the ~ from a file name, etc).  However, the issue I now have is that there is NO PROJECT FILE WITHIN my cmproj file when I search via "show contents".

So, it sounds like it never successfully saved under the new project name, so there probably isn't anything in that one to recover from.
In the old (original) project name, there could be some backups inside there. Unless, I suppose, you accidentally deleted them when looking for those ~ files? What do you see in there right now?
