DVD is actually a very low resolution digital video. I would create a video at the "Same Resolution" as your source footage for the you-tube upload. I recommend doing a custom production to MP4.  Set the video quality to 70%. Audio to 256kbps. Standard you-tube settings are a little low. Then just upload it to Y-Tube yourself.

For converting and burning the DVD. Use the same video you uploaded to Y-Tube.

Freemake Video Converter is a great choice. It's free and it's fast. Download it directly from the Freemake website. Just be careful during the installation to decline additional toolbars, Ask.com, and a host of other things that will be offered. You won't get a virus from their web site. If you miss a toolbar or something just uninstall it. They've got to pay for their existence somehow. I've used the program for years without any problems. See Image below, Click to enlarge.

I would agree with Joe and the link for Freemake is below:

Just give it a try and use Joe's suggestion for settings and some may be different depending on the situation. Let us know how it works out for you. I have not put any of my videos on DVD for a long time so some things might have changed since then. Thanks for posting and I look forward to hearing your feedback. Have a great day and thanks for the suggestions Joe.
