many reasons why a production causes a crash; could be memory, etc

perhaps see if this method lets you identify problem area ...

before producing ...

save project, exit camtasia

if a browser is open, exit browser

launch camtasia. load project, produce

does that work?

For what it's worth, I have found that when I produce long and/or complex videos (lots of callouts and animations) I get a failure with a non-specific message - something like "Camtasia can't read the xxx file; it may not produce properly".

In fact this happens FREQUENTLY even while just editing the project or playing it within Camtasia studio.

I am running in a Win7 32-bit system with 4 GB of ram. If I work on my co-workers Win 7 64-bit machine with 8 GB of RAM, I have NONE of these problems.

IMO, TechSmith should really up the hardware requirements for Camtasia Studio.
