The Problem
New device frames provided by TechSmith don't fit the context or branding of my video. Provide ability create a device frame from with own image or video.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Using own Device Frames.

While I do like the included Device Frames and also the added ones with 9.1 I would love to have the ability to simply add my own device frames for Drag & Drop Usage.

My idea is to have a PNG with transparency where the Video should be when the Frame is dragged & dropped onto the timeline.

This way we would have the freedom to use any kind of Frame we can think of while keeping it simple in usage.

We've updated the status of this idea to Under Consideration.

We are considering a few ideas to improve the device frames we released with 9.1/3.1. Given the number of items we have ahead of this one we don't anticipate we'll address this in the near future but we will be considering it as capacity frees up in future development cycles

Hi Rick!

We don't have a repository / database, though I plan to put together an Article for here on the community forums that shows the 2017 results with counts and statuses.

After upgrading to Camtasia 2018 I discovered the Device Frames and love the concept. Unfortunately only two of them are useful to me in my work and use of the software.

I would like to be able to creatively create my own custom Device Frames.

1. The ability to swap out the background from the Library would be nice.
2. Ability to choose an image or video and have it fall behind the device frame itself without having to create an overlay image with a transparent cutout etc.
3. Ability to have actual free transform ability to allow quick and precise alignment and arrangement of corners of video such as a shift click and drag etc.

Currently if I wanted to create an overlay with a transparent cutout of the device screen... laptop, ipad etc... and it is skewed in the photo, it's a real pain to get the perspective to align properly even with the available controls. Currently it is impossible to simply shift click and drag the resized video corners to nicely fit the transparent cutout area of the overlay image. Having the ability to do so would be AWESOME!

I'm not talking about a generic device facing the screen. Please read my post.
