Can I create a quiz without a video? Background: I have several videos, but want to create 1 quiz that covers topics from all videos, so it should not be attached to one video specifically, but should be a separate file.

You can add an image to the timeline.
Set the duration to taste.
Set the opacity to 0 so you can't actually see it, except on the timeline when editing.
Add quizzes to the image.
Save it to your library.
Then you can add it to any project from the library. Placing it on an upper most track before rendering.
I've never done this, so you may need to group it with the main video in order for it to work? But I sincerely doubt that would be necessary.

Example of quiz applied in a actual project.
On second thought, looking at a project. Grouping should be unnecessary. }:>)

I don't know how much you know working with quizzes?

In the above scenario, you can also move a quiz to another track. You hover the cursor overĀ  the quizzes timeline "Line" if you will? Over the track you want to move the quiz to. At the top of track/media a Green circular + will appear. If you click it, the quiz will jump to that track.

You can also drag them to wherever you wish, I dragged Quiz 1 ahead of Quiz 2 & 3 in the example below.

You can move them to the timeline or wherever suits you, and delete the 0 opacity if you wish. But it's not going to add to project. So it's unnecessary as a result. It would only serve to free up a track.

Excuse me for rambling on, I'm wrapping my head around the idea and posting my thoughts. }:>)

Joe's technique will work

but all you need is a very simple project with a 2 second callout on timeline, with the quiz placed at the 1 second mark

set a pleasing video background color; set keyframes to 1 second in production specs

example ...

That's true, I was thinking about multiple questions.

Re-reading the post, it looks like she may only require one question.

Doubtful, given the statement in the initial post:

"...but want to create 1 quiz that covers topics from all videos,"

That would seem to suggest more than one question. ;)

Create 1 quiz that covers topics from all videos.

If the subject matter is different in all videos, multiple questions could probably not apply.Changing them would probably be more complex than simply adding new questions.

Then I stand by my examples. It doesn't matter if you use a callout or an image. You have to have some from of media to attach the questions to.
If it were a video, the file size would be larger.Which would be pointless, since your only looking for a placeholder.}:>)

you have to have SOMETHING on the timeline in order to produce; but the quiz does not have to be attached per-se; just included in the project

just a single blank caption will do

this was produced without including the caption in the production

but I did use a video background color

one thing I found was that just using a blank caption made for a very fast production
