Create SnagIt Output plugin for Atlassian JIRA

A SnagIt output plugin for JIRA, would be a big time-saver for us.

JIRA is an extremely popular issue tracking & project management tool from Atlassian (http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/).

We used to use FogBugz, and the output plugin you have for that almost kept us from switching to JIRA :)

I would instantly buy licenses for all of my developers if this feature was implemented

Here is a prototype as plenty of other products are donig the same thing

Here is a screen shot of creating a new JIRA issue from and email in Outlook - The SnagIt feature to me would work identically

@Kelly, is there an SDK or API for building a custom Output plugin?

Our company uses Jira for defect tracking and feature requests.

We also just switched to Atlassian's web-based Confluence product. We use it to create and post internal technical documentation, to facilitate team communication, and to organize and share assets our training team uses to generate customer-facing documentation and training courses.

Confluence & Jira are both popular applications for software development companies like ours. It would be a HUGE win if Techsmith created a Windows Output interface for these products.

Though I have a feeling Atlassian restricts their API, since they have a $ubscription based add-on/browser plugin that overlaps much of SnagIt's features set.

The JIRA API is actually not the problem. All the functionality needed is there, it is Techsmith  that does restrict Snagit Plugins...

Greenshot, an open source screen capture tool, has an integration to JIRA that works quite nicely.

We’ve stopped using SnagIt altogether. Jira integration was important to us, not so much to TechSmith it seems. Will checkout Greenshot as well. Thanks

Wow.  Someone else showed me Greenshot for Jira integration, and I found this posting while looking for a SnagIt equivalent.  There isn't one yet?  TechSmith is missing a huge swath of the test and development market!

TechSmith, I had to say this because I've like your product, but we'll be changing over our entire IT and web support team to Greenshot because of this if I can't get similar functionality in SnagIt.  Greenshot even has you beat on the numbered stamps. They can be incremented/decremented as a set after the fact.  Best of all, it's free!

Greenshot already has this feature... and supports countless other integrations. And its free. Why cant a commercial product like Snagit have this?
