Crop with capture assistant + power user Advanced Settings + align text

1. The "capture assistant" is so helpful when capturing. It would be so valuable to have it when cropping in Editor. I usually can't see the edges in Editor; so cropping can be frustrating:

2. On SnagIt for Mac, it would be so helpful having additional Advanced Settings for power users. I started with SnagIt for Windows and got accustomed to everything I could do there. I appreciate the need for a stripped-down interface on SnagIt for Mac for beginning users; but it'd be helpful if the program allowed power users to get a little deeper into the weeds through Advanced Settings. Ex. video capture dimensions and frame rate; creating Guides, including image center.

3. When I add text, the options to Align the text box horizontally & vertically are greyed out:

Regarding # 3, you are in the wrong place. Use the tools in the Text Tool Properties sidebar.

That's cool. However, why won't it work with only one object selected? More often than not, I'm only trying to Align one object. I could create a 2nd blank object; but it's odd that it won't work on one object.

I agree, it should work with one object! I will look into getting that change made.

Thanks, Luke!
Any thoughts on my suggestions in original post for:
1. Crop Assistant in Editor
2. more Advanced Settings for power users?

Hi Kazu,

Your first 2 suggestions are still under consideration, but the ability to align a single object is now available in version 4.1.3, released today.
