Ok, its possible to crop images or videos. I want to crop for example just 2 pixels from the height of a video. How do I get feedback infos in pixels of the cropping area ?

Hi there

Interesting question. I was experimenting and hoping to find an easy way to perhaps do this via keystrokes. Unfortunately, it seems that this approach won't work.

The only way I can think of to accomplish it would be to create a Camtasia project at the exact dimensions you need for the video. Then insert the video and adjust it so the area you wish to crop is actually outside the top boundary by two pixels. Then save that to the library and put it in the other project.

Or render it out, and add the rendered video to the desired project.

Maybe somebody else has a better approach.

What would be really super nice would be to see a feature in Camtasia that is similar to SnagIt, where we are able to crop an image by opening a small dialog that allows us to click arrows to choose one pixel increments from the top, bottom, left or right sides.

Cheers... Rick :)

I went with a video. It saves a lot of typing and covers most unanswered questions.

I threw together a short video to show you a couple of approaches you could take.

There are a small handful of steps to follow and the video simplifies the explanation.

Yes its the best solution to solve the problem right now. But it would be better TechSmith to add these infos or better some edit boxes for precisely and professional results.
