I have Camtasia 8.6, which I paid about 300 dollars for (maybe more I honestly don't remember). From what I understand I have to pay 90 dollars to upgrade to 9.0, I thought when you get Camtasia the upgrades are still free after but it's not saying that I can. Is something wrong or do I really have to pay?

The full number upgrade (i.e. 9.0) is a paid upgrade.

Pretty standard in the industry.

if you purchased Camtasia 8 more than 30 days ago, you must pay to upgrade to Camtasia 9, which is a completely new version

this is a basically a standard practice in the software industry

I would call TechSmith and discuss it with them. It does matter how long ago that you made the purchase but it never hurts to ask if they can help you with that.
