Current Version

I have used Snagit for many years and I have recently purchased the latest version, much to my dismay.  I don't mind a few changes now and then but this new version is such a departure form the previous I spend more time looking for things then I do actually working with the application.  Some of the functionality does not work as well or as easily as with the old version, color correction for example, I now spend a great deal of time where it took only minutes before. I am considering deleting this version and going back to the old version

What you describe has been an ongoing complaint of long-time users since at least version 13, possibly version 12.

I'd say I'm a fairly long time user. ;)

Personally, I think it's just a human nature thing. Nobody likes change foisted upon them, myself included. I wasn't very happy with the new world order on SnagIt at first. For one thing, the initial UI was so dark and it was literally giving me headaches. But they did listen and they thankfully gave us choices on that aspect.

But I gave it some time. And I adjusted. And now that I've adjusted I have to admit that I feel more than a bit lost when I open an older version to see how this or that worked. Unfortunately adjusting doesn't happen overnight. And I do feel your frustration.

Unfortunately it seems that this is one of those "take it or leave it" sort of things. I'd bet that they will not be reverting to the look and feel of the older version. So our choices are to adapt or abandon. I'd be lost without it. I use SnagIt at least 50 times a day.

Of course you are free to do what you want. Even ask TechSmith for a refund I suppose. Although, they do offer a free trial period so you can kick the tires before laying out the cash.

Cheers... Rick :)

Rick .. it is not the look and feel. It is broken or removed features. You used to agree with that
