Cursor as a track

(This idea comes what we’ve heard here in this community as well as from other customer feedback methods we utilize. The feedback we gather here will help us gauge how well it fits our users’ needs. Please let us know what you think)

The Problem
The cursor is part of the screen recording track which causes media on other tracks to sometimes obscure the cursor. Having the cursor as a separate track would foregrounding it over other media

And please give us the option to choose a particular image or icon to use as our cursor the way you used to in older versions of Camtasia.  I am a teacher and used to use a pencil icon (because I write on my screen).  I no longer have that option and miss it terribly!

This would be awesome not only for the reasons mentioned, but for hiding jump cuts.

Oh, I like this one! It's not a huge issue for me but certainly there are times (particularly but not only with PPT recordings) where an unwanted cursor appears.

The ability to smooth my mousing into purely arc motion would be amazing! I've done this on my own with special programs that are made for people with Parkinson's.

Adobe captivate allows that. In addition to the arc, there is an option to choose a perfectly straight line too. That one is useful from time to time. Another feature is kind of a "naturally human" sort of thing in that there is easing applied at the end of the arc movement.  There is also an ability to choose the mouse pointer, chose the size of the mouse pointer, turn it off if you like and add special effects that represent a single click, a double click and a right click.

There are many things that would be helpful if this were to come to pass!

I'd love to see this. being able to hide a now outdated view of a screen with an image, and still have the Cursor over the top of the image so it shows clicks in the right places would be great... I may need to re record a whole suite of videos without this...  So Please!  A separate cursor track! Bring it! :-)

This. A thousand times. The cursor opacity setting can have mixed results, so either creating a separate track for the cursor or an animated cursor media that lets you easily do a "mouse click" animation would be super helpful.

In the meantime, however, whilst we are waiting for this lovely new functionality, how about giving us the mouse click effects as  gifs, with transparent backgrounds, and I could just fake it and paste over the top of the original... That would work for me! I've tried doing it myself, but the remove background tool leaves too much of the background colour, (I tried green screening it), so it doesn't look right...  Or if anyone out there has the skills to get these right, maybe they would share them? :-)

I thought you might be looking for a mouse click effect that matches Camtasia.

The 3 click rings below are nearly identical in size and duration to the default mouse click ring in a 1080p project in Camtasia 2019.

I've rendered them separately as mov's using the png codec.

Theres a Red, Green & Gray file. The Gray one is for creating custom colors. You can change it to any color.

Just apply the "Colorize" and select any color you'd like.

You can re-scale size to taste.

You can save them to the library. Then drag in when needed.

If you change a color or re-scale them. You can save them to the library as well.

If this isn't what you're looking for.Perhaps someone else is?

The effects that warp the video, I cannot reproduce. The other click effects are just images. I assumed you wanted rings?

Heres a link to download them........
