I want to use a cursor effect when showing steps using software (ie: highlight when clicking on a tab but want it to go off as soon as the item is clicked.  Can someone direct me to how to turn this on and off?  or in the track how to stop it and start again/  I cannot seemed to find where it is turned on in the track like I can with the ZOOM effect.  I can see that on the timeline very clearly.  I can turn the effect on but it seems to stay highlighted the whole video.  Thanks.

You can animations to cursor effects.

Reducing the opacity to Zero to hide them.

Bring them back using another animation where desired.

Repeat the steps above as often as necessary.

I was about to scrap the whole project because I couldn't turn off the cursor highlight. My problem was different in as much as I didn't want to ever highlight the cursor. (I was just playing with it to see if I liked it.) Luckily I fixed the problem.

I selected the entire track and there below the track a little bar popped up that said cursor effect. I clicked on it and clicked delete - problem solved. Sigh. Yes - On / Off would be perfect.

select the clip on timeline; be sure properties panel is open on right side of editor [click "properties" to open]; click on cursor symbol [top right]
