Cursor movements freeze.

Anyone else have a problem with the cursor simply freezing on the screen? I did 30+ minutes of screen capture, but when I went in to edit at some point the cursor just stopped moving. So the highlight around it of course was no longer highlighting selections I was making. Is there a fix for this, or do I just have to re do the capture. I hope not, because it actually went well.

I collected it using the latest version of Camtasia. Never had this problem in older version.

Hey there,

Is the cursor still moving around in the preview window? Did it move around just fine while you were doing your recording? If you render the video out locally, is the same thing still showing? What OS are you using? Thanks!

Im having the same problem right now. It moved normally when I was recording but in the recording it is freezed in the same place, even tho it looks like the mouse movement is ok in the video (popups showing when mouse is over them), but just the cursor itself is like a ghost, not having a "psychical body". Using win7 and camtasia 7.

And I figured out that the mouse movements didnt record at all. I can edit the cursor effects and it will affect the freezed mouse that is on the screen, but its not moveing. I guess there is no way to attach the mouse to the movements that were made? somehow it got unlinked during the recording....;/

OK I am having this issue as well. Using Camtasia 7. The only difference from my last set of tests is I am now using Windows 7. Are there known issues between Camtasia 7 and Windows 7? A whole day's work is pretty much down the tubes so not happy. Thanks.

Another voice chiming in--same problem. In a 27 minute screen capture, the mouse cursor stops moving at the 11 minute mark. Windows 7, Camtasia 7. And rather irritated no one from Techsmith has responded here even though the problem has been going on for months!

And really--don't tell us, just spend more money and get Camtasia 8....

V 8.2 - Same problem here as well - When playing during an edit session, the cursor jumps stops and jerks as it moves along. If I select a section in the Timeline (Green red end points) it moves ok within the selected section.
However - the next time I edit the same project - all works OK.
i.e. close, save and reopen. I checked task manager - nothing else taking cpu time.

I'm trying out Camtasia and experiencing this as well. It doesn't happen in all programs, but so far only in FL Studio and it doesn't freeze at first. Only after the first click within FL studio. Once I go to a different program, the recorded session shows mouse movement again.

Is there any fix for this bug yet? Or is it some kind of setting that I'm missing?

The first thing  I would try is Disabling GPU acceleration. " Un-check it as an Option".
See Image below, click to enlarge. If that doesn't help turn it back on. It's most cases it's a good feature to have enabled.
However, it creates problems on some computers. The GPU handles animations like cursor movement.

Just a quick note. I was having the same problem today, very frustrating BTW.

I figured it happend exactly when Firefox prevented a popup window to open, during recording. Hope this helps solving the problem, still I had to rerecord my video.
